What Does NEM Mean for My Business?
NEM allows users to benefit from solar PV energy. The solar energy generated will be consumed by your building first and the excess energy will be exported into the national grid to offset your building energy bill at the System Marginal Price (SMP) rate. This means that every unit of power you sell to the electricity grid earns the price according to the system marginal price unit of power from the grid would cost.
With the new renewable energy (RE) quota of 200MW for the commercial and industrial (C&I) under the Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme, corporate organizations can now enjoy a total of 1,000MW quota available by adopting solar energy for their business.
